I am a seer. Ghosts’ pleas for help and demons’ intimidating growls catch my attention. Their scents are as distinguishable as the aroma of brewed coffee or fresh-baked brownies. A spirit’s touch is sometimes a breath-on-my-cheek sensation that bristles my neck hair. I do not seek out the spiritual realm; it simply “happens” around us, just as the physical realm does. I have experienced this all of my life. However, I did not consider it a gift from God.

Raised in a devoutly Christian family, I was taught that God exists as three in one—Father, Son, Holy Spirit—and the angels work for them. Satan and his demons torment only deeply disturbed and, most importantly, deserving individuals. Additionally, Heaven and Hell exist, and upon our death, every person will go to one of those places. I was taught that our actions determine where we spend eternity, which should be our primary concern. I was sure I would go to Hell because of the hideous spirits I saw. The problem was that some of the Church’s teachings about the spirit world clashed with what I saw and experienced.

Whenever I tried to talk to someone about my torment, a devilish spirit quickly reminded me that it would kill whomever I confided in. This tactic was effective, especially when the spirit specifically named my parents. As a child, I had no idea if a demon could or could not kill someone I loved, so I kept my dreadful secret. I tried to be normal, but as time passed, I understood I was different from everyone I knew.

For fear of retaliation, I spent the first two decades of my life talking to nearly no one about the spirit world I saw, heard, and felt. I was twenty-three years old when my first child was born. Three years later, an incident occurred that was so significant that it motivated me to break my silence. One afternoon, I found my son staring intently at a doorway and squealing, “Dutchy!” the name of our German Shepherd. Wondering how in the world she managed to get into the house, I looked in the direction he pointed, and sitting there, calm as can be, was a sizable doglike demon. My worst fears were realized—the seer curse had not ended with me. I determined that my son would not be tormented as I was and would devote any time and energy needed to ensure it.

Since then, I have invested over thirty years studying the spirit world and drawing conclusions about it by observance, studying biblical spiritual laws, and talking with people about their encounters. I have extensive experience aiding troubled souls in ridding themselves of tormenting spirits. This includes performing exorcisms/cleansings and inner soul healing. What I’ve written about is what I’ve learned so far.

I have been dubbed clairvoyant (clear-sighted), clairsentient (clear sensing/feeling), clairaudient (clear hearing), clairalient (clear smelling), and claircognizant (clear knowing). But I am not a psychic or a medium. I do not channel spirits, summon spirit guides, give psychic readings, or practice psychic exercises to increase my so-called powers. I don’t worship Satan, perform witchcraft or mind taps, nor call up the dead. I do not read Tarot cards—I don’t even read a horoscope. I am a born-again Christian and owe my life entirely to Jesus. Without His sacrifice and power to free me, I would have perished long ago.

Over time, societies have developed many different and sometimes bizarre theories about the spirit world. Various religions have tried to define this topic. Today, there are so many versions of the truth that many people wonder whether a spirit world even exists; and if it does, what is it all about?

Some people believe that no spirit world exists and that we are alone on this planet. Others concede there is a spirit world but no such things as evil spirits, or maybe they are not so much evil as they are simply angry. Still, some believe in good spirits and might even call them angels, fairies, or muses.

I have observed that what we believe or do not believe has no bearing on what exists. I am not referring to religion, tradition, or faith. But if we close our eyes, it does not change the scenery before us; we have simply chosen not to see it. Now, there is a big push for scientific proof of spiritual existence. Even with the help of thermal imaging cameras and magnetic readers, there is no scientific proof of a spirit world. But, it is in good company with a few other things whose existence cannot be scientifically proven, such as the human soul: feelings, thoughts, and will. If we base proof of existence on the human ability to see it physically, how do we know the wind exists? The obvious answer is that we see and feel its effects: treetops sway, curtains flutter, and leaves and debris dance in perfect rhythm. These inanimate objects move under the wind’s influence, proving it exists.

If you can see what I see, you know there is a spiritual realm. Oxygen-breathing creatures are not the only entities occupying this planet. Maybe you don’t see them, but you see and feel their influence on you and others. Have you ever entered a room, and though there wasn’t another living soul in it, you were aware that someone or something else was present? It is possible it was your imagination—you probably weren’t alone.

So, what types of spirits inhabit the spiritual atmosphere of our world? The spiritual realm is just as diverse as the physical realm. There is great variety in the animal kingdom and humankind; likewise, there is great variety within the spirit world. At the very least, there are good spirits and evil spirits. Many people who don’t follow any organized religion believe that good spirits coexist with us. I frequently see good spirits helping people, and even though you might not have drawn any conclusions on what to call them, from this point forward, I will refer to these benevolent spirits as angels. If you see what I see, you know evil spirits co-exist with us. You may wonder what I mean by evil spirits if you do not see them. They are malevolent supernatural creatures driven by violent hatred. Their all-consuming purpose is to do whatever it takes to destroy relationships, steal happiness and love, and kill anything good in our lives. All we need to do is review history to see the influence evil spirits have had on leaders such as Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, and Ayatollah Khomeini, to name a few. To communicate more clearly, I will refer to many of these wicked spirits as demons. However, the kingdom of darkness also functions with Nephilim, therion, unclean spirits, fallen angels, and others.

It sounds like I’m describing a horror film or mythological story. That is why many people today dismiss the concept of a spiritual world. There are great novels and exciting films about them. Of course, everyone knows the makings of a good fairy tale include a healthy dose of good versus evil. Without a villain, you can have no hero, right? No wonder it is difficult to believe there is a spirit world. We have trivialized it so dramatically that a thinking person has trouble lending credibility to it—unless you can see it.

Do you see what I see? Maybe some of the things I have experienced have also happened to you. Perhaps you try to ignore your spiritual encounters; the last thing you want to do is talk about them. Well, that is precisely what I want to do—talk about them. If you do not see the spirit realm, would you allow my eyes to be your lenses into it? Are you interested in learning how spiritual creatures look and what they can or cannot do? If so, in my book Do You See What I See? I give you an eyewitness account of the incredible variety of beings coexisting with us.

Through telling my story, I desire to expose the hidden secrets and treasures of darkness. I will share my encounters with the spirit world and offer you my understanding of it. Do laws of conduct bind this invisible realm? If so, what are they? How do these laws affect human beings?

I invite you to join me on a journey to prove that spiritual laws do indeed apply to the spirit world and that we do not have to remain helplessly controlled by the darkness. I hope that the eyes of your understanding will be opened to uncover the mysteries of the spirit world.
